Enter your professional bio here : Yvonne Liu is a Los Angeles-based writer whose work explores Asian American experiences, mental illness, and culture. Her mission as a writer is to give voice to the silenced and reduce shame by sharing complex family stories with honesty and nuance. Her viral HuffPost essay has reached over three million readers, and her work has appeared in the New York Times, Salon, NBC News, The Rumpus, Newsweek, Business Insider, and Today. Liu is currently completing her memoir Left To Be Found, which chronicles her adoption from Hong Kong and her search for truth and healing in the face of secrecy, shame, and generational trauma. She is a recipient of a James Patterson ''Go Finish Your Book'' Grant and is a Sewanee Writers' Conference Tennessee Williams Scholar in Nonfiction. Liu has received support from PEN America and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. She serves as a volunteer Ambassador for The OpEd Project and appeared on the New York Times Modern Love Podcast.
