Enter your professional bio here : As a freelance content and editorial professional, I provide clear, impactful content and assets that move audiences to action, consistent with my clients' brand voice and marketing objectives. Before specializing in B2B technology, I worked as a daily newspaper reporter and staff writer (1999-2009), and led newsrooms as a managing editor (2009-2012). I moved into magazine journalism in 2012, and served as the managing editor of CDW's EdTech: Focus on Higher Education quarterly print magazine (and companion website) within the Manifest content marketing agency. I was promoted to editorial director in 2015, and went on to lead the agency's team of 25 web reporters, managing editors and other creative professionals responsible for the entire CDW content marketing program across six industry verticals (healthcare, education, state and local government, small- to medium-sized businesses and the federal government). I was recruited by Gartner in 2019 to stand up a content strategy for the then-new Gartner Digital Markets brand (sold to G2 in 2026). Within three short years, I hired and led a team through the development of our core content pillars and editorial calendars, defined audience personas, delivered our brand narrative, and developed surveys and research-backed long-form content initiatives that supported lead generation. As GDM entered 7 new global markets, we scaled our content program and translated assets into 12 languages. I started Buck Spence LLC in 2022 to offer freelance and contract-based content marketing services that include content strategy development, editing, copywriting, reporting, and more. I regularly deliver channel-specific content (reported and researched articles, survey executive summaries, press releases, blogs, white papers, email nurtures, social, ad copy), for more than 30 software and technology brands, and B2B media. When I'm not pursuing my own writing and research, I work closely with writers and authors on developmental editing and beta reads.
