Enter your professional bio here : Robin Catalano is a travel journalist who specializes in conservation and preservation, coastal travel, the Northeastern U.S., food and craft beverages, and Spain. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, National Geographic, Travel & Leisure, TIME, Smithsonian, Condé Nast Traveler, AFAR, Hemispheres, and a wide range of other publications. A member of the Society of American Travel Writers and the International Federation of Journalists, she was selected as the summer 2020 Writer-in-Residence at Arrowhead, the historic home of Herman Melville in Pittsfield, Mass. In 2022, she was a finalist for the International Food Wine and Travel Writers Association's Excellence in Journalism award. Last year, she won the SATW Lowell Thomas award for sustainable tourism reporting. Robin writes frequently about nature and wildlife, outdoor experiences, culinary topics, and human culture. She especially enjoys mysteries, scientific discovery, and hidden history, and welcomes inquiries on these and other travel and travel-adjacent subjects. Robin has also served as a copywriter, corporate communications manager, content strategist and content marketer, and the managing editor of digital and social media for a lifestyle brand. As a book editor, Robin has worked for publishers such as Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Scholastic, Workman, Storey Publishing, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Inner Traditions International. She also works as a book coach, helping writers who are not professional authors but who are experts in their field take their ideas from concept to print.
