Enter your professional bio here : Journalist and author JoBeth McDaniel grew up in Andalusia, Alabama and lived in Atlanta before moving to California and stumping everyone with her drawl. She has freelanced since she was a teenaged college student, with work later published in LIFE magazine, Reader's Digest, House Beautiful, AARP Magazine, Newsweek, BusinessWeek, USA Today, and elsewhere. JoBeth's essays have been selected for several anthologies, including two college textbooks, and reprinted in publications abroad. Her bestselling book, on actor Chris Burke, was a Literary Guild selection, and on Best Book of the Year lists. JoBeth earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Mount Saint Mary's University, with additional graduate work at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. She is currently finishing her memoir about her 30-year friendship and train travels with author Nelle Harper Lee. In recent years, JoBeth has been writer in residence at Write On Door County, and at Dorland Mountain Arts Colony. Her literary agent is Peter McGuigan, Ultra Literary.
