Book Credits : Maine: Year One: A photographic journal of a Californians's first year in Maine: Most people would think that someone who enjoyed the year-round warm, sunny days of California for 25 years would be crazy to give that up for the harsh winters of Maine. But that's just what photographer, writer and speaker Dan Zukowski did in 2015. From Acadia National Park to lighthouses, seas, trails, roads and trains, Dan compiled what he describes as a ''rather random journal'' of his first year in the Pine Tree State. Its 52 pages brim with 33 color photographs accompanied by fact-filled text from a journalist whose byline has appeared in major newspapers and magazines.

Previously, I served as correspondent for Trains Magazine and News Wire, where I wrote both news and features for online and print. My byline also appears in CityLab, Grist, Salon, Sierra Magazine, Hakai Magazine, Mongabay and Pacific Standard. I've been asked to make radio and speaking appearances and have been profiled in several articles. I am a member of the invitation-only Lexington Group for Transportation History. My writing career began as a business journalist for the WardsAuto group of automotive industry publications, reporting on manufacturers and suppliers along with consumer, marketing and government issues. I also have extensive experience in corporate communications, leading the public relations accounts for major international automotive brands. I frequently contribute photography to accompany my stories and my fine art images have been exhibited in galleries and juried shows. https://www.smartcitiesdive.com/
