Enter your professional bio here : Carla King is a travel writer, memoirist, and publishing coach with expertise in most nonfiction genres and literary and genre fiction. Carla pioneered online travel writing in 1995 with her groundbreaking internet travelogue documenting a cross-country journey on a WWII-era sidecar motorcycle—long before ''blog'' entered the lexicon. Her adventure motorcycle travels have taken her through India, China, Europe, Mexico, and Africa, experiences she continues to transform into compelling narratives. As a publishing expert, Carla has authored multiple books on independent publishing and has guided authors for over 20 years through the evolving landscape of traditional and independent publishing. She previously wrote a PBS column on self-publishing technologies and speaks at conferences and workshops on publishing strategies. Carla writes both books and short-form pieces on travel, women's solo travel, motorcycling, writing, publishing, and technology. Her editorial work spans most nonfiction genres and literary and genre fiction. She also takes on select ghostwriting projects, most recently contributing to a book about the James Webb Space Telescope.
