Amy Brecount White loves to explore, both physically and intellectually. Whether she’s volunteering with sea turtle conservation experts on an uninhabited island off Bonaire or hiking through an ancient temperate inland rainforest in British Columbia, she brings a sustainability and wellness focus to her writing. Her perfect day is spent hiking, kayaking, or snorkeling through stunning scenery, and she’s excited to dive into any new adventures and better understand ancient cultures. She’s highlighted the best stargazing spots in North America, shared the jaw-dropping experience of watching humpback whales bubble-net feeding off Alaska’s shores, and written about regenerative travel providers across the world. Her writing has been featured in National Geographic Traveler, Smithsonian magazine, National Parks Traveler, Sierra magazine, AAA publications, and AARP. She’s an active Arlington Regional Master Naturalist, a National Park Service volunteer, and the park steward for the public park behind her home.
